Philip Mayers
Corporate Director
Mr. Mayers is a corporate director and consultant. Mr. Mayers’ career has spanned over 30 years of finance and general management in regulated financial services businesses. His skills and experience serve to support the CIRO Board’s oversight role.
Mr. Mayers served as Chief Financial Officer of Sagen MI Canada, a mortgage insurance company, from 2009 until his retirement in December 2023.
Mr. Mayers currently serves on Sagen's Board. Prior to joining Sagen MI Canada, he held finance positions with Mortgage Insurance Company of Canada, Esso Petroleum Canada and Deloitte & Touche.
He is a Youth Mentor in the Jane-Finch Community (Toronto) with Seeds of Hope and the Founding sponsor of the University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance’s Financial Literacy Competition. Mr. Mayers was recognized as a Top Gun CFO (2019) from Brendan Wood International.
He holds CPA, CA and CMA professional designations and has a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo.
